Tourist Attractions in San Cristbal de las Casas

There are a lot of tourist attractions in San Cristbal de las Casas. The first attraction is the Temple and ExConvent of Santo Domingo. The Temple and ExConvent of Santo Domingo was built in the 16th century. It is built in the baroque style architecture. All of the furniture is handmade embroidery. The second attraction is The San Cristobal Cathedral. The San Cristobal Cathedral has a mixtures of a lot of different styles of architecture like baroque, mudejar, and neoclassical. It was built in the 18th century as a historic landmark of the city of San Cristbal de las Casas.

The third attraction is the Rancho Nuevo Caves. The Rancho Nuevo Caves is a formation of all types of caves in 1947. It is known for its beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. It is located close to the Chiapas Mountains. The best time to go to see these caves is from November to April. The fourth attraction is the Amber Museum. The Amber Museum is a wide collection of sculptures, lapidary art, and amber jewels made of amber. It is decorated in the Victorian style architecture. There are also some fossils of the local plant and insect life inside of the museum.

The fifth attraction is the Na – Bolom Museum. The Na – Bolom Museum is better known as the House of Jaguar. The museum has a large collection of Lacandon ethnography, textiles, and religious art. This is a garden at the museum that is lined with mescal bottles. The sixth attraction is the Zinacantn. The Zinacantn is a town inside of San Cristbal de las Casas. The town is best known for its handmade crafts and textiles from the local people. It means land of the bats so you will more than likely to see a bat when you are in this town.
